Our Experienced Home Improvement Team

Ben Peterson, Owner/CEO: Ben started in the home improvement industry in the early 80’s as a siding installer.  After a couple of years working for someone else he started Ben Peterson Siding in Menomonee, Wisconsin.  In 1987 he sold that business and moved to Waukesha where he started River Valley Home Improvements.  He soon found that he had a talent for all types of home improvements and started providing services for most every part of a home.  In 1993 he fulfilled one of his dreams and built his own home from the ground up.  In 2006 he started Lake Country Remodeling.  His goal has been to build a reputable company that provides excellent service at a reasonable price.  Some of his talents he brings to the company include many years of remodeling experience, a perfectionist mentality that demands excellence, and a personality that enables him to make his customers feel at ease when working with the company.

Brian Peterson, Owner/Manager:  Brian started in the home improvement industry at a very young age working for his father.  When he first started he was not even old enough to be allowed to use power tools, and mainly just was able to clean up and get things.  Through his middle and high school years he work every summer and was able to learn some of every aspect of the business.  In 1997 he left and attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.  After graduating he split time between Lake Country Remodeling and being a youth pastor.  He is now full time with the company and he does a little bit of everything.  He manages the crews, does the accounting, works on the jobs, and anything else that needs to be done.

James Teske, Salesman:  Jim has worked in the industry for over 30 years.  He has worked as a master carpenter in both rough and finish carpentry.  There is very little he has not seen.  He also worked as a production manager in building new homes for several years.  In that time he managed the construction of over 300 homes.  He has also managed the construction of over 80 additions.  As a salesman this experience enables Jim to help homeowners make wise decisions.

Scott Shane, Job Forman: Scott has many years of experience improving the value of a person’s home.  Scott has worked as a countertop installer, a cabinet builder, and a finish carpenter.  He says he learned how to do a wide variety of things by owning his own house.  Scott is a dependable worker that will see that things are done correctly.

Don Tyler, drywaller:  Don has learned to do drywall to a standard that few can match.  Don’s personality will not allow him to leave the job if he does not feel it is perfect.  He enjoys a challenge and is able to match most any texture, and make his drywall into a piece of artwork.  Recently he has undertaken the challenge of learning how to do tile.  Many of the skills he has learned in drywall translate well into tile.  The company is happy to have him on the team as a person who is able to put some of the finishing touches on a project.
